Bureau Veritas Denmark joins SDIA’s vibrant community

Copenhagen, Denmark, 3 December 2021Bureau Veritas Certification Denmark, a leading company in inspection, classification, consulting, and certification, has joined forces with the Sustainable Digital Infrastructure Alliance (SDIA), becoming its latest member.

With its activities, Bureau Veritas Denmark supports all business sectors with a wide range of sustainability services and solutions, enabling clients to identify and address growing challenges in this field. The company’s experience includes a wide range of cloud computing, colocation, wholesale, and enterprise data center projects.

Through its collaboration, the two organizations aim to push the implementation of sustainable solutions within the data center industry.

“Bureau Veritas Denmark & EMEA Region has a key focus on sustainability and how to accurately measure and verify sustainability, efficiency, and carbon footprint within the data center industry,” said Conor Molloy, Senior Project Manager at Bureau Veritas, adding: “And for this reason, Bureau Veritas is now in partnership with the SDIA, developing the tools and methods to accurately measure and certify sustainability within the digital infrastructure of data centers.”

Max Schulze, SDIA's Executive Chairman, welcomed Bureau Veritas Denmark to SDIA, highlighting the importance of the experience that such a global company is bringing to the Alliance. “Bureau Veritas Denmark will undoubtedly add value to our Alliance with their experience and expertise. We are happy to count them as one of our newest members,” Schulze said.

Bureau Veritas will provide independent third-party sustainability assessment, auditing, verification, and certification services (via BV Clarity), which are key elements within the verification process of Sustainable Digital Infrastructure and a requirement of the Climate Neutral Data Center Pact (CNDCP) and European Green Deal.

Through a green line of services and solutions, Bureau Veritas partners with organizations helping them to execute their sustainability strategies with trust and transparency, as sustainability becomes a key growth driver and a catalyst of trust for all economic players.

Decision-makers face the challenge of building trust with their stakeholders: shareholders, boards, employees, customers, and society as a whole. Independent and expert third-party organizations such as Bureau Veritas help them give credibility to their corporate social responsibility (CSR) approaches. They also help them provide proof that their commitments in terms of environmental and social impacts are backed up by facts and actions.

Established in 2019, the SDIA is a nonprofit network of more than 65 organizations across Europe and beyond working to accelerate the transition to sustainable digital infrastructure. The Alliance aligns all stakeholders of the digital ecosystem that work together and contribute toward the mission of fostering a sustainable digital economy and realizing its Roadmap to Sustainable Digital Infrastructure by 2030.

The Roadmap also aims to offer a holistic and systematic approach to deal with the challenges facing ICT sustainability, which range from energy supply and data centers, to fiber-optic networks and software.
